Starlings

The 2nd Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) of the season was caught today. The first one was 4 weeks ago but back then we had a laptop breakdown and there is no corner shop.

Very tired, very low, 4 Black Storks (Ciconia nigra) entering Antikythira at dusk against the south wind.

Sardinian Warbler

Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala) is our new seasonal catch in a rather quiet day.

The first Dunnock (Prunella modularis) of the season.

A finch, a bunting and a wren

Three new species today, Serin (Serinus serinus), Corn Bunting (Miliaria calandra), and Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes).

Hawfinch and Greenfinch

Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) and Greenfinch (Carduelis chloris) the new species of the season in our nets today.

Yellow-Browed Warbler

One more Yellow-Browed Warbler (Phylloscopus inornatus) was ringed earlier today.

The Yellow-Browed Warbler (Phylloscopus inornatus) a rarity for Greece, ringed for second time in Antikythira and the Goldcrest (Regulus regulus) the new species for the season.
