Robin
Wind allowed ringing for few hours this morning and we got our first Robin Erithacus rubecula of the season.

Windy..
That’s how it looks for the last couple of days. Very strong NE wind do not allow us to open the mistnets and ring, and it is difficult to stand at the observation points. Better weather is expected from Friday.

Raptors weekly report
Not so many raptors this week, apart from a day with a lot of Marsh Harriers Circus Aeruginosus. Nevertheless we had 2 more Egyptian Vultures Neophron percnopterus (6 so far), one of them stayed overnight.

Barn Owl
The resident Barn Owl is the only new species ringed for the last couple of days. Enjoy also an adult male Red-Breasted Flycatcher ringed earlier today.

Nightjar
Nightjar Caprimulgus europaeus is the new species ringed today. Remarkable are the big numbers of Golden Orioles Oriolus oriolus.

Raptors report
The 4th Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus for this season recorded today. The Lammergeier Gypaetus barbatus of Wednesday is a new species for our list. Good raptors week in other words.

Pipits

Egyptian Vulture
A juvenile Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus yesterday was the first one of this season. A possible juvenile Lammergeier Gypaetus barbatus today will be tonight’s dinner debate. Sorry no photos, enjoy the light house at the south tip of the island.
