Day 55 of ringing – the last day

Spring 2016, day 52 of bird ringing

Spring 2016, day 51 of bird ringing
The winds were even stronger today and thus we got few birds (31 in total). We still though have a fair variety of species that reached up to 10. As yesterday the House Martin (Delichon urbicum, Λευκοχελίδονο was the most common species ringed. Daily totals can be found here: http://www.trektellen.org/count/view/1696/20160516

Yesterday we had to close the nets after the first net round due to rain that lasted more or less up to midday. The weather improved slightly today So we managed to ring though the whole constant effort session. Spring 2016, day 46 of bird ringing
A really hot day today with significantly less bids, around 60 in the constant effort site. The Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin, Κηποτσιροβάκος) is still the most common species by far being half of the birds trapped. Daily totals can be found here: http://www.trektellen.org/count/view/1696/20160511

Spring 2016, day 45 of bird ringing
Garden warblers are reaching their peak with more of the half ringed today belonging to them. Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata, Σταχτομυγοχάφτης) are all around the place are was the second most common species at the ringing table. Spring 2016, day 44 of bird ringing
Strong wind today as well but nevertheless, as yesterday, we had had good catch today (117 in the constant effort). The most abundant species was the Sand Martin (Riparia riparia, Οχθοχελίδονο) followed by the Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin, Κηποτσιροβάκος).
