Day 36 of ringing

ardral.jpgA quiet day today but with a nice surplice in our nets, the first Squacco Heron (Ardeola ralloides, Κρυπτοτσικνιάς) for the season. After some day with ought even seeing Semi-collared Flycatchers (Ficedula semitorquata, Δρυομυγοχάφτης) we got two of them. The Woodchat Shrikes (Lanius senator, Κοκκινοκεφαλάς) are around in lower numbers,Other species tapped today:European Turtle Dove (Streptopelia turtur, Τρυγόνι), Eurasian Wryneck (Jynx torquilla, Στραβολαίμης), Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica, Σταβλοχελίδονο) Tree Pipit (Anthus trivialis, Δεντροκελάδα), Common Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos, Αηδόνι), Common Redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus, Φοινίκουρος), Whinchat (Saxicola rubetra, Καστανολαίμης), Savi’s Warbler (Locustella luscinioides, Καλαμοτριλιστής), Sedge Warbler (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus, Σχοινοποταμίδα), European Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus, Καλαμοποταμίδα), Great Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus arundinaceus, Τσιχλοποταμίδα), Eastern Olivaceous Warbler (Hippolais pallida, Ωχροστριτσίδα), Icterine Warbler (Hippolais icterina, Κιτρινοστριτσίδα), Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla, Μαυροσκούφης), Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin, Κηποτσιροβάκος), Common Whitethroat (Sylvia communis, Θαμνοτσιροβάκος), Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix, Δασοφυλλοσκόπος), Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata, Σταχτομυγοχάφτης), , Collared Flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis, Κρικομυγοχάφτης), Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca, Μαυρομυγοχάφτης), Eurasian Golden Oriole (Oriolus oriolus,  Συκοφάγος).
