End of the Season!
The wind was not with us at tour last ringing day… So the last bird that was ringed for the spring season 2012 was a Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin, Κηποτσιροβάκος) while the first a Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita, Δεντροφυλλοσκόπος). In total more than 3500 birds where ringed of 60 species, two of them being rare in Greece; a Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica, Γαλαζολαίμης) and a Melodious Warbler (Hippolais polyglotta, Ορφεοστριτσίδα).
We are really grateful to all the volunteers that came and helped and we wish that we will see some you ( the blog followers) on the island during a coming season.
