An ABO bird in Israel!

hippal.jpgAn Olivaceous Warbler Hippolais pallida that was initially ring in Antikythira during May 2008 was trapped this May at Jerusalem Bird Observatory. This is our first bird retrapped in Israel and the first Olivaceous Warbler ringed in Greece that was controlled in an other country!
We cross our fingers and hope to have more reports of our birds from them!

I am the ringer who caught your Hippolais pallida in Jerusalem.
It was a real pleasure for us too. We also hope to interchange more birds with you. It is the second bird found in Israel from greece this spring.
By the way the Hippolais pallida stayed in our site for a few days
as I caught it yesterday again. Our site is mainly in Hebrew but if you wish to go to the English side and through it to the news you will be able to see the photo of the ring itself.
I can also send you photos of the bird itself.
Your Island seems a very interesting and beautiful place I hope to be able to visit it next spring…
