The first day today that we managed to work though all the constant effort ringing period. The birds of the day was the Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix, Δασοφυλλοσκόπος) & Eurasian Wryneck (Jynx torquilla, Στραβολαίμης) that we had not seen around the island during the previous days. Other first species ringed for the season was the Hoopoe (Upupa epops, Τσαλαπετεινός) Tree Pipit (Anthus trivialis, Δεντροκελάδα) Common Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos, Αηδόνι) Sedge Warbler (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus, Σχοινοποταμίδα) Common Whitethroat (Sylvia communis, Θαμνοτσιροβάκος) Eurasian Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla, Μαυροσκούφης) Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator, Κοκκινοκεφαλάς) As seen from the totals the most common species is once more the Eurasian Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla, Μαυροσκούφης)
