Spring 2016, day 45 of bird ringing

Garden warblers are reaching their peak with more of the half ringed today belonging to them. Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata, Σταχτομυγοχάφτης) are all around the place are was the second most common species at the ringing table. Sand Martin (Riparia riparia, Οχθοχελίδονο) are still around but in lower numbers.

The bird of the day though was another male Black-headed Bunting (Emberiza melanocephala, Αμπελουργός) while a delayed Hoopoe (Upupa epops, Τσαλαπετεινός) also gave the pleasure to observe it from close range.
