Day 61 – The last bird of the season….

img_3340.jpgThe season is over and 61 days of ringing have passed. The last three days have been very windy and we’ve only been able to work for a few hours per day. The last bird ringed for the season was this lovely Black-eared Wheatear (Oenanthe hispanica, Ασπροκωλίνα).Other species trapped today were:Eurasian Golden Oriole (Oriolus oriolus, Συκοφάγος), Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix, Δασοφυλλοσκόπος), Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca, Μαυρομυγοχάφτης), Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata, Σταχτομυγοχάφτης) and of course some wonderful Garden Warblers (Sylvia borin, Κηποτσιροβάκος). Stay tuned for our species review …
