Day 30 of ringing: 113 birds and Blackcap with ring Croatia!!

Today, 02 october, a beautiful day full of news. The most important one is a recapture of a Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) with a foreign ring: Croatia-Zagreb!! We are waiting for to know from Zagreb when has been ringed this bird.

Today we have ringed 113 birds! (the previous record was of 109 birds the 14 september). The more numerous specie has been the Blackcap with 33 individuals, but also many Robin arrived, then many Spotted flycatcher and Garden warbler.

The third news has been an owl pellet found this morning into the ringing table. Within this pellet there were remains of a little bird with a ring!! we have checked the number in the sheets and it was a Garden warbler ringed by us yesterday!

This is the list of the birds ringed today: 3 Reed warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus), 1 Tree pipit (Anthus trivialis), 15 robin (Erithacus rubecula), 4 Red-breasted flycatcher (Ficedula parva), 4 Icterine warbler (Hippolais icterina), 1  Red-backed shrike (Lanius collurio), 2 Nightngale (Luscinia megharyncos), 12 Spotted flycatcher (Muscicapa striata), 7 Redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus), 6 Willow warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus), 3 Wood warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatix), 2 Winchat (Saxicola rubetra), 33 Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla), 15 Garden warbler (Sylvia borin), 5 Whitethroat (Sylvia communis) and the second Sardinian warbler (Sylvia melanocephala).
