Day 35 and last day of ringing camp

passer-hispaniolensis-cumbo.JPGToday, 07 october, the ringing camp finishes for this season with a couple of Spanish sparrow (Passer hispaniolensis). The weather was very bad, strong wind from north and rain. Because of bad weather we have closed before of the 10th october.

The total number of bird ringed is around to 1000. The number of species is of 34. The more ringed species have been Garden warbler (Sylvia borin) and Spotted flycatcher (Muscicapa striata), but also Willow warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus), Icterine warbler (Hippolais icterina) and Red-breasted flycatcher (Ficedula parva). The most interesting species were Common crossbill (Loxia curvirostra), Common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus ) and the recapture of Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) with ring Croatia-Zagabria.

We are everybody very sad, it was a nice camp full of very good and nice volunteers from all Europe! Thank you very much to: Fabricio, Lara, Isabel, Theo, Demetries, Kostis, Barbara, Lucia, Peter, John, Vicky, and the coordinators Michalis and Victoria!
