day 28 of ringing

Not fully operational as the winds are still strong but at least ringing.  We did not ringed as many birds as we should according to the season but we still had some nice species. The Woodchat Shrikes (Lanius senator, Κοκκινοκεφαλάς) are still around in big numbers and more  Eurasian Golden Orioles (Oriolus oriolus, Συκοφάγος) have arrived. On top of that we had our first Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus, Κούκος) for the Season.Other species trapped today:Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica, Σταβλοχελίδονο), Tree Pipit (Anthus trivialis, Δεντροκελάδα) European Robin (Erithacus rubecula, Κοκκινολαίμης), Common Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos, Αηδόνι), Common Redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus, Φοινίκουρος), Great Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus arundinaceus, Τσιχλοποταμίδα), Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla, Μαυροσκούφης), Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin, Κηποτσιροβάκος), Common Whitethroat (Sylvia communis, Θαμνοτσιροβάκος), Subalpine Warbler (Sylvia cantillans, Κοκκινοτσιροβάκος), Balkan Warbler (Phylloscopus orientalis, Βουνοφυλλοσκόπος), Willow Warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus, Θαμνοφυλλοσκόπος), Collared Flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis, Κρικομυγοχάφτης), Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca,  Μαυρομυγοχάφτης), Spanish Sparrow (Passer hispaniolensis, Χωραφοσπουργίτης).img_6408-1.jpg
