Volunteering in Agras – Vritta – Nisi Wetland

First of all, I am sorry to not giving news since long time. July was a busy month very interesting! We had two music festivals, Vlasty and River party. So, I will speak about the first one, Vlasty.
This festival exists since a long time and has the particularity to combine music of the world and promotion of organic product come from Greece. It gives us, during four days, the opportunity to discover better Greece, its music, its dance and peoples! Lada bring Irini, me, Mariluce, Axelle and Ramone until the little village of Vlasty where we put the tents in the mountain. The landscape was beautiful.
During this festival we promote the association by the “Periptero” and games with children. We proposed to them to draw birds that we can see one the wetland like the Bee eater or the white storks. They really liked it and bring their draws at home. We had also the opportunity to see all the concerts during the evening by a free entrance (Thank you Irini!). For me, all the music was good, but I particularly like a Turkish band that plays the Saturday evening. During the day, in the camping, people propose some activities of jangling, traditional dances and artistic creativities. It was a very good moment for everybody; we participated to the dance and try to do the bicycle with one wheel, it was very funny!
We also rescue a chick of swift which was fallen from its nest. I was not there at these moment but Jonathan and Axelle took care of it during the period of the festival. The second day, Elisabeth arrived from her holidays and participate also to the festival.
It was a very good moment for everybody, I liked it very much. Unfortunately, the last day, a thunderstorm storm which stopped the concert and activities…But Viva Vlasty Festival!!!

Tout d’abord, désolé de ne pas avoir donné de nouvelles depuis longtemps. Juillet fut un mois très riche en événements! On a eut deux festivals, Vlasty et River party. Donc aujourd’hui, je vais d’abord parler de Vlasty.
Ce festival existe depuis des années et a la particularité de combiner musique du monde et la promotion de produits biologiques originaires de Grèce. Pendant 4 jours, nous avons donc eut l’opportunité de mieux découvrir la Grèce, sa musique, ses danses et les gens. Lada nous a amené jusqu’à Vlasty, Irini, moi, Mariluce, Axelle et Ramone, petit village dans les montagnes. Le paysage était magnifique.
Pendant ce festival nous avons tenu un « periptero » et proposer des activités pour les enfants. Les jeux consistaient en des dessins d’oiseaux que nous avons sur la zone humide, comme le Guépier d’Euroe ou la Cigogne blanche. Les enfants ont beaucoup aimé et rapporté leurs réalisations chez eux. Nous avons également eut l’opportunité de voir tous les concerts par des entrées gratuites (merci Irini !). Pour moi, toute la musique a été bonne mais j’ai particulièrement aimé le groupe turc qui a joué le samedi soir. Pendant la journée, des gens proposaient des activités sur le camping comme le jonglage, des danses traditionnelles ou des créations artistiques. Ce fut un très bon moment pour tout le monde ; nous avons participé aux danses et essayé le vélo à une roue, c’était très sympa !
Nous avons aussi sauvé un oisillon de martinet tombé du nid. Je n’étais pas là à ce moment mais Jonathan et Axelle s’en sont occupés durant toute la période du Festival. Le deuxième jour, Elisabeth est arrivée de ses vacances et nous a rejoins dans notre travaille festivalier.
Ce fut un très bon moment pour tout le monde, j’ai beaucoup appréciée. Malheureusement, un orage a stoppé prématurément le festival dimanche soir…Mais Viva Vlasty !
