Volunteering in Agras – Vritta – Nisi Wetland

To finish the summer, I will speak about our last participation at a music festival, River party. This festival took place near to the village of Nestorios, close to the city of Kastoria, from the 28th of July to the 1st of august.
This festival is one of the most famous in Greece and invited a lot of famous personalities from Greece. It takes place near to a river during five days with such a beautiful view… It was very well organize; during the day, the staff proposed some sport activities and during the night there were the concerts. It was also very different from Vlasty festival (see previous article from me). The music was more Rock and Pop from Greece, and people in general was younger. However, it was also a very enjoying moment, with a lot of fun.
We came (Irini, Axelle, Ramone, Elisabeth and me) with Lada (thank you Lada!) the day of Gaz station strike in Greece! But fortunately, after like six stop in gaz station, we found something to feed Lada! It was quite amazing… After this little disagreement, we arrive quietly in the festival were we proposed a stand in order to aware the public in environmental problems. The public looked less interested by our stand than in Vlasty festival in the beginning. But, because, we were almost the only organization present in this festival, some people came and start to ask and make interest about our activities.
We worked during all the days at our stand by turn. So, during our free time, we had the opportunity to swim in the river, do the activities, and it was very relaxing. During our job, we did almost the same things than in Vlasty, sell some objects from the organization and explain the aims and the action of HOS.
For the concert, we were free, and we had the chance to see all the concert of the festival. It was a very good moment!! Moreover, another volunteer from Thessaloniki, Sophie, came to join us and we share a lot of very nice moment all together!
To conclude, I am sure to remember for a long time my last festival in Greece!

Pour la fin de l’été, je vais vous parler de notre dernier festival de musique, « River Party ». Ce festival a eut lieu du 28 juillet au 1er aout, près d’un village, Nestorios, non loin de la ville de Kastoria.
Ce festival est un des plus réputé en Grèce et invite les chanteurs Grecs les plus connus. Ce festival dure 5 jours, près d’une rivière, dans un cadre un magnifique… C’était très bien organisé ; la journée, le personnel proposait des activités sportives et la nuit laissait place aux concerts. C’était également très différent de Vlasty (voir mon dernier article). La musique était un mélange de pop/rock Grec, et en général les gens étaient plus jeunes. Cependant ce fut un très bon moment, avec de beaucoup de rires.
Nous sommes venu (Irini, Ramone, Axelle, Elisabeth et moi) avec Lada (merci Lada) le jour de la grève générale des stations d’essences ! Heureusement, après des arrêts dans environs 6 stations d’essences différentes, nous avons trouvé de l’essence pour nourrir Lada ! C’était assez marrant… après ce petit désagrément, nous sommes arrivé tranquillement au festival ou nous avons installé notre stand qui eut pour but d’informer et sensibilisé le publique aux problèmes environnementaux. Au début, le publique semblaient moins intéressé par notre stand qu’à Vlasty festival. Cependant, car nous étions presque la seule organisation présente à ce festival, certaine personnes sont venuet on commencé à montrer de l’intérêt à nos activités.
Nous travaillions par roulement pendant toute la journée. Et donc, durant nos moments libres, nous avons eut l’opportunité de nager dans la rivière, participer aux activités, et ce fut très relaxant. Le reste du temps, nous avons effectué un travail similaire qu’à Vlasty, vendu des objets de l’association et expliquer le but et les actions de HOS.
Por les concerts, nous étions libres et avons eut la chance de voir tout les concerts du festival. Ce fut un très bon moment !! De plus une autres volontaire de Thessaloniki, Sophie, est venue nous rejoindre et nous avons partagé de très bon moments tous ensemble !
Pour conclure, Je suis sur de me souvenir pendant longtemps de mon dernier festival en Grèce.
